PIA Crash: 91 out of 97 bodies handed over to families

Out of 97, as many as 91 bodies of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash victims have been identified and handed over to their families.

Sindh Health Department confirmed that 91 bodies of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash victims have been identified and handed over to their families. Sindh health department said that at present six bodies were lying in the mortuary of the Edhi Foundation for identification.

Except for two survivors, all 97 passengers and crew members of the flight that crashed in a residential area near Karachi airport were confirmed dead.

The French agency, BEA, confirmed on its Twitter account that the FDR and CVR data of the PIA  Airbus 320 aircraft was successfully downloaded over the request of Pakistan’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB).

The agency also added that the analysis of the recovered data is in progress which will continue this week.

On June 1,  a 12-year-old girl injured in the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash passed away. Maida was a resident of Malir’s Jam Kunda Goth and worked at a house in Model Colony. She was injured on May 22 when the ill-fated PK-8303 crashed in the neighborhood.

A fire broke out after the plane crash and several bystanders were injured in it. Maida was burnt on 60% of her body.

PIA CRASH 

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger plane, with 99 people on board, crashed in Model Colony near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi just two days before Eid ul Fitr, killing 97 (89 passengers and eight crew members). Two passengers miraculously survived.
