The Pakistan Army has conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Karachi on Friday.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), an aerial survey of the affected areas of Karachi has been carried out.

ISPR spokesman said that the crack in Malirnadi had been filled after which the water in Marvi Goth, Madina Colony stopped flowing due to the filling of the crack.

An ISPR spokesperson also said that de-watering pumping was underway at K-Electric’s grid station.

On the other hand, according to another statement issued by the Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), relief and rescue operations are underway in the flood-affected areas of Karachi.

The ISPR spokesperson said that 32 medical camps have been set up in different areas in collaboration with the civil administration while three Army Mobile Hospitals have been set up in Surjani Town, Qayyumabad, and Saadi Town.

The ISPR spokesperson also said that 56 relief camps have been set up in collaboration with the civil administration to help the distressed people while water extraction from 9 places has been completed.

A spokesman for the ISPR said the process of evacuating the people to safer places was underway and cooked food was being provided to the victims.

It should be mentioned here that after heavy rains in Karachi, 70 teams of Army and Rangers are engaged in relief work.

The monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in Sindh province while many low-lying areas in Karachi have been inundated due to continuous rains.
