Prime Minister to inaugurate the long-awaited BRT project on August 13

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) Peshawar project on August 13.

According to the details, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mehmood Khan and others will accompany Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The long-awaited project to inaugurate on August 13 after six deadlines.

Furthermore, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also announced the fares for the BRT service.

According to documentation, the minimum bus fare for Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) will be Rs15 while a maximum fare of Rs 50 has been set by the provincial government.

Earlier Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Finance and Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra said the project has suffered from some problems, and that the same stressed by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.

Moreover He admitted that there are mistakes on the part of the government in the project which could have been carried out in a better way.

The finance minister said there is no government in the world that does not make errors,

In addition to this, he said that it is wrong when people try to politically defend everything.

Moreover, The BRT Peshawar project will cost Rs70 billion, including the exchange rates, the minister said,

On April 25, the Supreme Court had extended the stay order against the Peshawar High Court’s ruling over the BRT Peshawar project.

The verdict of the PHC  challenged by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA).

Earlier On November, 14, the PHC had handed down the judgment on BRT Peshawar and directed the FIA to probe the Project and submit the report within 45 days.

Let it be known that the mega project, which was launched in October 2017, was to be completed in April 2018.

This was the first deadline for the project which was not met.

However afterward the provincial government gave several other deadlines, June 30, 2018, and then to Dec 31, 2018, and March 23, 2019.
