SC orders to put name of CEO K-Electric on ECL

The Supreme Court Karachi Registry on Tuesday ordered to put the name of K-Electric Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Monis Alvi on Exit Control List (ECL).

According to the details, while hearing a case of prolonging load-shedding in Karachi, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed has directed to register case against K-Electric over deaths in Karachi due to electrocution during Monsoon rain spell.

Chief Justice Pakistan also ordered to conduct an audit of the company.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed expressed anger over prolonged electricity outages in the city, the top judge admonished the concerned authorities and remarked that people are severely suffering from this issue.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed remarked that the name of CEO Electric should be included in all the deaths due to electrocution in Karachi.

“K-Electric has not done anything all over Karachi as earth wires have been cut all over the city. Make a case of murder charges against them and the cases should be filed against the entire administration.”

On previous day hearing, the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered the removal of all kinds of billboards from in Karachi.

During the proceedings, SSP South appeared in the court.

In a conversation with Commissioner Karachi, the respected judge said that billboards have been fixed everywhere in his city that are causing accidents and taking precious lives.

The commissioner said people have been exploiting public properties in the city and claimed there is a mafia behind all this.

The bench directed Shalwani to take action against all those behind the installation of billboards in violation of laws.

Chief Justice Gulzar said it is up to the government to ensure the implementation of building plans and lamented that there is no such thing as government and law in the province.
