Award-Winning Pakistani Cyclist Samar Khan has complained of being sexually harassed in the federal capital Islamabad.

In her video, she revealed that she was harassed while cycling.

While cycling in the capital of the country, Islamabad, Samar was fondled by an unknown person on a motorcycle and he sped away. Despite trying to chase the man on her bicycle, she was unable to catch him.

She pointed out she doesn’t blame anyone, neither men nor the government for whatever happened to her.

However, she went on to question her followers as to how they can ignore such incidents while witnessing them happen to a woman in public.

Samar described the harasser wearing a maroon shirt and carrying an office bag. Samar said that cycling for women in Pakistan is not safe at all.

Samar Khan became the first woman in the world to cycle to the top of the 4500-meter high Biafo Glacier in the Karakoram mountains in 2016. In the year following that, she became the first Pakistani woman to summit the highest peak in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro.

Due to her exceptional achievements, she has also been selected in the ‘Global Sports Mentoring Program’ by the US Department of State and is also registered in the Pakistan Book of Records.

She represented Pakistan in the US, while building her action plan called, ‘Samar Camp’ to launch biking events and training sessions nationwide. She got mentored by one of the biggest snowboarding company in the US, ‘’Burton Snowboards’’(Vermont).

A spokesperson of the Islamabad Police said on Friday that the SHO and SP of the police station, who jurisdiction the incident happened, have contacted the cyclist.

He also added that the police were investigating the incident with the help of the CCTV footage.

DC Islamabad Hamza Shafqat took notice of the incident and said that the person involved in the incident is being traced.
