Schools in Sindh to reopen from September 28

Education Minister of Sindh Saeed Ghani has said that the secondary schools across the province will resume classes from September 28.

According to the details, while talking to media in Larkana, he said grades 6 to 8, of all private and government schools, will resume classes in Sindh from September 28.

Saeed Ghani said that the government had previously delayed the second phase of reopening schools from September 23 due to the increasing number of coronavirus cases.

He said “We had taken the decision looking at the current situation,”

“The schools will only reopen when all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will properly be implemented by the management of the schools. We can’t put the health of our students at risk.”

He said that he has been visiting schools across Sindh to monitor the implementation of SOPs.

For some parents, it’s very difficult to pay consolidated school fees for six months, they should, therefore, be given relief, the minister added. The fees can be paid in installments.

NCOC permits to reopen schools

On the other hand, the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) allowed reopening of the secondary schools (Class 6 to Class 8) across the country from September 23.

According to the details, the NCOC meeting on the opening of educational institutions was attended by Federal Minister Asad Omar, Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood, and Interior Minister.

After the first phase, a total of 35 educational institutions across the country were closed after coronavirus cases emerge in educational institutions.

Educational institutions were opened on September 15 for the students of matric and above standards.

In the second phase, the secondary schools are scheduled for reopening on September 23, while primary schools will reopen on September 29.

Meanwhile, Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas announced all public and private schools will be allowed to resume classes 6 through 8 from September 23.

He took to his twitter and wrote:

“All Public & Private Schools will be allowed classes 6 through 8 starting September 23rd. It is imperative for everyone to follow SOPs issued by School Education Department Punjab. All of us have to play our part to make this successful InshAllah.”

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Education Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai also announced to reopen all government and private schools across the province from September 23.
