PA resolution asks for disqualification of Ayaz Sadiq

Former National Assembly speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s statement on the release of Indian pilot Abhinandan created an outrage. A resolution condemning the statement has been submitted to the Punjab Assembly secretariat.

A per the details, PTI MPA Musarat Jamshed Cheema submitted the resolution which accused Ayaz Sadiq of making a statement to ‘please’ former PM Nawaz Sharif and India. The resolution stated that Sadiq has gone against the country’s constitution and also distorted history by giving remarks against Pakistan Army.

The lawmaker asked for the preparation of a reference seeking disqualification of Ayaz Sadiq as a member of Parliament. She also demanded action against the people on whose behest he gave the statement.

Earlier, Former National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq has defended his statements that he stands by his stance.

The PML-N leader said while talking about the recent speech that he had “many secrets” but never made irresponsible statements.

He talked to media in Lahore alongside Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, head of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), and chief of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F). He said that “political color” given to his statement did not benefit Pakistan’s narrative.

“We can have different thoughts politically but where Pakistan is concerned, the whole nation is united and God willing, will give a splendid answer to India. People may have objections to what I said but the political color given to it did not benefit Pakistan’s narrative.”
