Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani has on Tuesday (today) said the friendly relations between Pakistan and China will help set new direction of socio-economic development of the region.

In a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong in Islamabad, Sadiq Sanjrani said parliamentary democracy plays a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral contacts.

He said exchange of parliamentary delegations has enhanced bilateral social, political and economic relations.

Sadiq Sanjrani said CPEC will bring prosperity and development to the region.

He said promotion of people to people contacts will further strengthen economic partnership.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador said the two countries’ vision of development and the CPEC will turn this region into a hub of international trade.

He said Pakistan is a very important country for China and we are jointly making efforts for regional development.

“CPEC will turn this region into a hub of international trade,” he added.

Earlier on November 20, China lauded the contributions made by Pakistan for countering terrorism besides also vowing to foil any attempts to sabotage a multi-billion project between the two countries-China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
