Gill bashes Opposition for pursuing narrative against economic growth

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill has said that the opposition must be aware of economic growth before criticizing the policies.

According to the details, Dr. Shahbaz Gill in his tweet said that in November 2020, exports of the textile sector increased by 20% and exports of pharmaceuticals also increased by 20%.

The Special Assistant added that in one-month surgical items and women’s garments witnessed 11 percent increase in exports as compared to the previous year.

On the other hand, Adviser to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood also informed that significant growth has been seen in the exports of Home Textiles (20%), Pharmaceutical products (20%), Rice (14%), Surgical Goods (11%), Stockings & Socks (41%), Jerseys & Pullovers (21%), Women’s Garments (11%) and Men’s Garments (4.3%), as compared to Nov 2019.

He added that this is in line with our policy of promotion of value-added exports and reflects a healthy trend. The Adviser added that the Ministry of Commerce has released Rs. 1.78 billion for Textiles Sector under DLTL scheme.

Moreover, he added that the export of animal casings from Pakistan to Japan has resumed after a ban of four years. He advised trade missions to actively engage the importers for the promotion of Pakistan’s exports.  The Adviser also urged the exporters to take benefit of this opportunity and move full speed ahead.
