Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has presented the details of the convicts sentenced to death and life imprisonment in the National Assembly.

The written reply submitted by Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said that the number of death penalty convicts in the four provinces was 759 while the number of life imprisonment convicts was 14,318.

The written reply said that the number of death row convicts in Punjab is 15 and the number of life sentence convicts is 7,916.

The number of death row convicts in Sindh is 527 while the number of life sentence convicts is 3,536. There are 48 death penalty and 430 life imprisonment convicts in Balochistan.

In a written reply, the Home Minister said that the number of death penalty convicts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was 169 while the number of life imprisonment convicts was 1,677.
