New Air Chief Accorded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) by President Alvi

Newly-appointed Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar has been conferred the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) award by President Dr. Arif Alvi here on Monday.

The President awarded the new Air Chief with the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) as a recognition of his magnificent services for the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar was commissioned in April 1986 in the GDP branch of the Pakistan Air Force.

During his career, he commanded the Fighter Squadron, Operational Air Base and Regional Air Command. He served at the Air Headquarters as Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations Research and Development), Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Training Officers) and Director General of Projects.

In addition, Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar has also served as an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier, in honour of his notable services, he has been accorded with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military).

Previously, Zaheer Ahmed Babar had taken the charge as the new Air Chief of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

The former Air Chief Mujahid Anwar pinned badges on Babar and presented him the commanding sword as well.

Moreover, Mujahid Anwar also viewed the guard of honour. A special formation of JF-17 fighter jets honoured him by presenting a salute.
