Turkey passes law to gain control over social media

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) temporarily blocked all social media platforms, sources said on Friday.

According to the details, the Interior Ministry directed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to block all social media platforms including Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram till 3 pm.

The ministry, in the letter to the PTA, had requested the PTA to take action against the issue “immediately”.

The reason for the suspension of the services was not clear as of yet.
