Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur was summoned for alleged violation of orders of Chief Election Commissioner Azad Kashmir.

Contempt of court petition was filed in the Election Commission of Azad Kashmir against Ali Amin Gandapur and others for violating the rules and regulations issued by Chief Election Commissioner Abdul Rashid Suhlaria regarding the Azad Kashmir elections.

Chief Election Commissioner Azad Kashmir Abdul Rashid Suhlaria has said that action is being taken against PTI leader and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur for violating the code of conduct.

Talking to media in Muzaffarabad, Justice (retd) Abdul Rashid Suhlaria said that best arrangements have been made for the elections in Azad Kashmir and the government has been providing full support in the preparations for the elections.

Abdul Rashid Suhlaria said that the turnout in Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections is likely to be more than 56%.

Replying to a question, the Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Kashmir said that he had asked the presiding officers to announce the results on the spot and provide a copy of the results to the polling agents.

Asked about Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Justice (retd) Abdul Rashid Suhlaria said, “Action is being taken against Ali Amin Gandapur.”

It may be recalled that a video of Ali Amin Gandapur went viral in which he was seen distributing money in Azad Kashmir. Ali Amin Gandapur had attended a meeting in which Prime Minister Imran Khan was also present.

Later, another video of Ali Amin Gandapur went viral in which the Federal Minister was seen firing.

In a press conference with the Federal Minister of State Murad Saeed in Islamabad, Ali Amin Gandapur said that banning him is not a fair decision.

He said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz threatened the administration but no action was taken against her.
