ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Saturday further relaxed Covid-19 related restrictions by allowing the reopening of cinemas, and shrines for fully vaccinated citizens.
The decision was announced after a meeting on Saturday as the coronavirus situation continued to improve in the country.
“Cinemas and shrines across the country are allowed to reopen for fully vaccinated people adding that mandatory one-day weekly closure of businesses has also been abolished,” said the NCOC stated in a statement.

The federal government’s central body dealing with the pandemic also allowed increasing the number of guests attending indoor wedding ceremonies from 200 to 300 and from 300 to 500 for outdoor weddings.
The decisions will be implemented from today (October 16) to October 31. An NCOC session on October 28 will review them again.
Planning Minister Asad Umar, who also heads the NCOC, urged the people to follow Covid-19 guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and get vaccinated.

While sharing a survey by Gallup Pakistan that claimed 86 per cent of people believe Pakistan could overcome the pandemic threat, Umar said,” The government is grateful for this trust, but achieving this target is only possible if people get Covid-19 jabs at the earliest.”
The minister also warned that “there is a risk increased coronavirus spread [in the country] with cold [in the winter season].”
