ISLAMABAD: After the Supreme Court gave a four-week deadline to the government to submit a progress report in the Army Public School Peshawar (APS) attack case on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a high-level meeting in the capital and discussed the legalities of the case.

During the meeting, Attorney General Khalid Jawed Khan outlined the decision of the SC and Adviser to PM Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan also apprised the participants about the legal aspects of the case, BOL News reported.

According to sources, federal ministers were also present in the meeting and deliberated over the case.

“Martyrs are our greatest pride,” PM Imran told the participants of the meeting adding that the incumbent government would fulfill its constitutional duties in the case.

The premier said that he would fully abide by the orders of the top court.

SC sets four-week deadline for govt 

Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan appeared before the apex court after a three-judge bench — headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed, and comprising Justice Qazi Mohammad Amin Ahmed and Justice Ijazul Ahsan — summoned him in the APS attack suo motu case.

The premier, accompanied by Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid, appeared before the bench and briefed the apex court on the progress made in the case.

The top court grilled the premier for holding talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and questioned the government’s inaction against perpetrators.

The premier assured the SC of exposing everyone found responsible for the APS attack.

Later the top court gave the government a four-week deadline to submit a progress report in the APS attack case.
