ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Thursday said he hoped that the allies would decide in favour of Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the no-confidence motion against the PM.

Talking to media in Islamabad, Sheikh Rashid said the pure breed and genuine people supported their allies in a testing time. He said he cursed on the politics of showing tantrum on the occasion of difficult time.

“The umpire is neutral. No matter what the results are, I stand by Imran Khan like a rock. He will become more popular because of their (the opposition’s) stupidity. They are going to cast their votes in a ditch,” he said.

However, the federal minister said, it was a right of a member of National Assembly to cast a vote in favour of or against somebody.

He confidently said the opposition would be defeated in the no confidence motion against the prime minister. He said the PM had directed the members of cabinet to continue consultations with allies. He urged the opposition to avoid the politics of conflict.

Sheikh Rashid also said that 400 police officials from Sindh in addition to private force were brought at the Sindh House in Islamabad, where, he claimed, a market of horse-trading was established.

The minister said there would be public holidays in the federal capital from March 21 to 24 because of the session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) council of foreign ministers.

He said the Pakistan Day parade this time will be historic one as the OIC foreign ministers will also attend the event. He said 2,000 Rangers and FC personnel will perform duty on this occasion to maintain law and order in the federal capital. He said the parliament house and federal lodges will be protected by FC and Rangers, since March 20.
