Two people belonging to Sikh community shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Unidentified attackers gunned down two people belonging to the Sikh community in the Sarband area of ​​Peshawar, BOL News reported on Sunday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan took notice of the incident and directed the Inspector General of Police to take necessary action for the immediate arrest of those involved in the murder.

CM Khan said that the incident is highly reprehensible and tragic and the elements involved in this heinous murder cannot escape the clutches of the law.

The minister vowed to provide justice to the affected families.

According to the CM, the incident is an attempt to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere and inter-religious harmony in the city.

“The provincial government will not allow such efforts to succeed,” the chief minister said.

In September 2021, another member of the Sikh community named Hakeem Sardar Satnam Singh was killed by a gunman when he was sitting in his Dawa khana (clinic) on the Charsadda Road within the limits of Faqirabad Police Station.

Sardar Suran Singh, member of the KP Assembly, was assassinated in Buner in April 2016. 
According to some news outlets, militants claimed responsibility for the attack.
