Govt playing politics over floods, nothing to offer except photo sessions: Qureshi

MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the government is doing politics over the floods and has nothing to offer except for photo sessions.

Addressing a corner meeting in NA-157 constituency, the PTI leader urged people to vote in the by-elections according to their conscience and in the wider interest of the country.

He said people should compare the PTI’s three-and-a-half-year term to the four-month inflation of the current rulers.  “Imported rulers are playing politics on floods. Nothing is happening except photo sessions,” Qureshi said.

He regretted that in the last seventy years, development funds were not used properly on the country’s progress. “If properties and accounts were not created abroad, the nation would not have seen this day,” he said. “Due to corruption of incompetent rulers, many lives and money was lost due to floods today.”

“Who is responsible for this? The nation knows it. Whether it’s Shehbaz Sharif or Zardari, there have no feelings for the nation,” he exclaimed. “Only Imran Khan has the pain of the poor in his heart.”

He said the incompetent and imposed rulers do not have the ability to run the country. He said the nation is forced to starve due to the 4-month incompetency of imported rulers. “They have to go home. If not, a sea of people will sweep them away,” Qureshi said.

Qureshi said the floods are an unprecedented disaster and PTI is preparing an action plan to deal with it. He said along with the flood relief work, the true freedom struggle will continue.

He maintained that the public campaign against the imposed rulers has been started and will continue. He said the country’s economy has collapsed as the government has no strategy for growth.

He said the rulers cannot hide by blaming PTI for all crises. He said the people rejected them in 2018 election also due to their performance, corruption and incompetence.

Qureshi said Imran Khan was removed from power under a conspiracy which the people cannot accept. He urged people to vote for the PTI in the bypolls on September 11 and stop them once again.
