COAS to visit flood-affected areas of Dadu district: ISPR
DADU: General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff will visit far-flung areas of interior Sindh in Dadu district. COAS will spend time with flood-affected people in relief & medical camps and also meet Pak Army troops busy in rescue & relief activities, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement.
Later, COAS will be flown for an aerial survey of flood-affected areas of Dadu, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Johi, Meher, and Manchar Lake.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday had a telephonic conversation with United States Defence Secretary Lloyd James Austin, according to the ISPR.
During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest, regional stability as well as defense and security cooperation.
The Defence Secretary expressed grief over the devastation caused by the unprecedented floods in Pakistan and offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. He offered full support to the people of Pakistan.
He also appreciated the relief activities of the Pakistan Army in the flood-affected areas and pledged to play its role in increasing cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
