RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir recently visited Khuzdar and Basima areas of Balochistan, the media wing of armed forces, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

General Syed Asim Munir was briefed on prevailing security situation and formation’s operational preparedness along with measures being taken to ensure a peaceful and secure environment.

While interacting with troops in Khuzdar, the COAS emphasised on maintaining optimum operational readiness to thwart the attempts by foreign sponsored and supported hostile elements to destabilise Balochistan.

“We are aware of the nefarious designs of external enemies of Pakistan to disturb the hard earned peaceful environment in Balochistan,” the COAS remarked.

Earlier on arrival, the army chief was received by Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor, Commander Quetta Corps.

On December 30, a Pakistan Army soldier, belonging to Tehsil Zehri of Khuzdar district, had been laid to rest with full military honor, Bol News had reported.

The Pakistan Army soldier was martyred in the exchange of fire between Pakistan Army personnel and terrorists in Kurram Aravali district. Shaheed Naik Muhammad Ramadan belonged to Bulbul area of ​​Zehri. He was laid to rest in a local cemetery.

A large number of local military and Levies officers and young men had attended the funeral prayer. On this occasion of participation, every eye had shed tears, the officers consoled the martyr’s father and expressed sympathy.
