Authorities are expected to leave Lal Haveli today
RAWALPINDI: It is expected that the authorities will leave Lal Haveli as preparations were being made for the home of the former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed on Monday, BOL News reported.
Sources claim that the concerned officials have been told to get ready to leave Lal Haveli.
In the meantime, the government’s action against Sheikh Rasheed’s home was referred to as an “act of revenge” by the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
Imran Khan brought up the “government’s illegal action” against Rasheed’s home during the PTI core committee meeting and told Asad Umar to raise his voice in support of it.
Asad Umar said on Twitter that a scheme had been hatched to deploy “government equipment” to vandalize Sheikh Rasheed’s home and exert pressure on the former interior minister.

The former minister of communication further stated that his party supports the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML) and that PTI vehemently condemns this “act of terrorism.”
On January 26, it was noted that the Evacuee Trust Properties Board (ETPB) had planned a 24-hour evacuation of Sheikh Rasheed’s home, Lal Haveli.
In this regard, the department requested assistance from law enforcement agencies (LEAs), including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the rangers and the police.
Prior to the partition, Lal Haveli belonged to a Hindu woman, but once Sheikh Rasheed entered parliamentary politics in 1980, it was transformed into his political office.
Rasheed has previously received notices from ETPB; he stated that he had been served with eviction papers in October 2016.
