LAHORE: Another big political setback for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as another big player of the captain former Federal Minister Ali Nawaz Awan, who had been missing for long time, joined the Istehkam –i-Pakistan Party (IPP) on Sunday.

Ali Nawaz Awan surfaced at the central office of the IPP in Lahore and met Patron Chief of the party Jahangir Tareen and President Aleem Khan.

Aun Chaudhry and other leaders of IPP were also present on the occasion.

The IPP leaders welcomed the joining of Ali Nawaz Awan and termed it good omen for the party.

It is pertinent to mention here, On October 16, senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) Farrukh Habib, who had been missing for an extended period, unexpectedly reappeared before the media at the office of the IPP along with several leaders of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), including Aun Chaudhry and Nauman Langriyal announced to leave the PTI and join the IPP.

Habib accused the PTI chief for misguiding the party leaders and workers, causing the occurrence of May 9 incident, and emphasized their struggle to establish Pakistan as per the vision of Quaid-e-Azam.

He asserted that the country had veered towards violence after April 9, despite the no-confidence vote being conducted in accordance with constitutional procedures.

Furthermore, Habib laid blame on the PTI chairman for preventing them from pursuing peaceful avenues and instead fostering a culture of resistance by encouraging street protests after April 9.

He revealed that he had not been in contact with his family for the past five months.

Habib recollected that Imran Khan had influenced leaders and party members with the notion that political engagement within the country’s institutions was unfeasible, inciting violence while waving the Pakistani flag.

He accused Imran Khan of steering PTI members away from the ballot box and towards more confrontational methods, asserting that he had never resorted to violence, even during his student’s politics in the past.
