Arrest warrant issued for DG SBCA over no action against illegal construction

The Sindh High Court on Monday issued arrest warrant for Director General (DG), Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), Mohammed Yasin Shar Baloch over no action against illegal constructions.

The court remarked that DG SBCA had just been fooling the court instead of taking action illegal constructions and officers involved in it.

SHC judge Justice Nadeem Akhtar lambasted DG SBCA stating “The department does not do any work and corrupt people are placed in important positions.”

Added “Mr. DG! You should be suspended at the same time.”

The judge summoned Deputy Director Shahid Sheikh to the rostrum and inquired whether he intended to take any action against illegal constructions.

To which DD Shahid replied “Yes Sir, InshaAllah, give me one month’s time, I will submit the progress report.”

The court ordered the DG SBCA to immediately implement the court orders and take action against officers involved in the illegal constructions along with a progress report on next hearing.

The court warned of taking action as per the law, if now action was taken against illegal construction and officers involved in it.

The court adjourned the hearing on petitions for 4 weeks.
