Asad Qaiser handed over to ACE on two-day physical remand in corruption case
A judicial magistrate in Swabi on Tuesday handed over former National Assembly speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaiser to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on a two-day physical remand in an alleged corruption case.
The Anti-Corruption authorities pursued allegations against PTI leader of corruption in the purchase of medical equipment for Gaju Khan Medical College Swabi.
During the court appearance, the Anti-Corruption agency sought a ten-day physical remand, a request that the court promptly rejected.
As a result, Asad Qaiser was handed over to ACE on the approved two-day remand.
The former Speaker, who was brought to the court of Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Khalil Khan, had been transferred from Islamabad to Swabi the night before.
In his court appearance, Asad Qaiser expressed optimism, stating, “We have good hope for what Allah has approved.” He also affirmed his allegiance to Tehreek-e-Insaaf, stating, “I am in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), and I will remain.”
Asad Qaiser was arrested on November 3 from his residence in Bani Gala by police and anti-corruption, revolve around corruption in the procurement of medical equipment for Gaju Khan Medical College Swabi.
