PM Kakar gives extension to DG ISI Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar on Friday said that Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) director general Lt. Gen. Nadeem Anjum’s term has been extended by an year.
He added that the extension has been done to maintain the policies, at a time when the country is facing increased terrorist attacks.
The DG ISI Nadeem Anjum was to retire this month, but now will serve at the post for another one year.
While giving an interview to Arab News, the prime minister said, “Try to grasp the point about policy continuity. Any system prefers and supports the concept of continuity.”
PM Kakar said, “You want to have a continuation of the process, and for you, the continuation of that process is important so that idea, practice, or brand gets entrenched.”
Lt. Gen. Nadeem Anjum was appointed DG ISI on November 20, 2022, and he was due to retire in October.
