The Punjab provincial government is gearing up to announce winter holidays for schools, primarily attributed to the cold weather. While some local media outlets suggest the possibility of early vacations due to smog, official confirmation is pending.
Recent air pollution concerns led to a three-day weekend for schools in certain Punjab areas. However, educational activities resumed on Monday despite the prevailing adverse conditions.
Reliable sources indicate that the government intends to maintain the usual winter vacation schedule, closing schools and educational institutions from late December to early January.
If aligned with previous years, winter vacations in Punjab and other regions are anticipated to span from December 24th to January 9th.
The School Education Department (SED) is expected to issue an official notification regarding the winter vacation holidays in the coming days. Stay tuned for updates on this matter.
