IHC decides MDCAT result valid until November 2024

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Mian Aurangzeb has issued a decision regarding the MDCAT result, according to which the MDCAT result of November 2022 is valid until November 2024.

The court said that the petitioner, Laiba Rauf, passed MDCAT in November 2022. At the time the MDCAT was passed by the petitioner, the result was valid for 2 years as per law. The petitioner challenged the Public Notice dated July 14, 2023, of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

The IHC, in its judgment, said that the PMDC notice said that the MDCAT passed in 2022 will not get admission in 2023. As per the 2021 regulation, the November 2022 MDCAT results are valid for two years.

The court decision said that this right cannot be withdrawn from the petitioner by a subsequent administrative decision, so the MDCAT result of the petitioner will be valid from November 2022 to November 2024.

Earlier, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) withheld the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council(PMDC) from announcing the results of the Medical Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT)  over the paper leak controversy.

Peshawar High Court Justice Arshad Ali heard the petition filed by the students against the paper leak of MDACT.
