
PTI’s Asad Qaiser re-arrested after securing bail from Mardan court
PTI leader and former National Assembly speaker had been re-arrested, after securing bail from a district and sessions court in Mardan on Saturday.
Earlier on the day, Asad Qaiser’s bail was approved in May 9 case.
The bail was granted by Judge Mohammad Zaib against surety bonds worth to Rs100,000.
Asad Qaiser had been re-arrested by Charsadda police on November 24 in connection with a vandalism case. He was apprehended and moved to Charsadda under tight security measures.
Previously, an anti-corruption court in Abbottabad had also granted bail to Asad Qaiser in a corruption case.
The allegations revolved around corruption in the procurement of equipment for Gajju Khan Medical College in Swabi.
Earlier, Asad Qaiser was arrested from Bani Gala, Islamabad, on November 3 in relation to these charges filed by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).
