ISLAMABAD: The US State Department on Thursday refrained from providing comments on India’s alleged involvement in the murders of two Pakistani nationals in Sialkot and Rawalakot in 2023.
Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi disclosed this information in a press conference early in the day, stating that Shahid Latif was assassinated in Sialkot on October 11, and Muhammad Riaz was killed during Fajr prayers in Rawalakot on September 8.
According to Qazi, law enforcement agencies have apprehended the responsible individuals, and investigations have pointed towards New Delhi’s role in these assassinations.
When questioned about this matter, a spokesperson from the US State Department declined to comment, directing inquiries to Pakistani authorities. The official responded via email, stating, “I would refer you to Pakistani authorities on this and have nothing further to add.”
