Cop injured in dacoits’ attack in Kashmore

KASHMOR: A police constable was injured in dacoits’ attack, here on Monday despite the visit of Sindh Home minister and Inspector General (IG).

The robbers assaulted the police check post and attempted to hold the cops hostage. They resorted indiscriminate fire on the police party, injuring cop Ali Hassan Chachar.

The injured personnel was shifted to a hospital where he was under treatment.

The outlaws fled when the police challenged them, meanwhile a heavy contingent of the police force reached the spot and besieged the whole area.

On the other hand, Sindh Home Minister Zia Ul Hasan and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon addressing a press conference in Shikarpur claimed that the police personnel are smartly tackling the situation, bringing improvement in law and order.

The minister said that he would again visit the area and review the situation. He asked the robbers in riverine areas to surrender before the police otherwise stick action would be initiated.

The minister vowed that criminals would completely be eliminated in the affected areas and restore full law and order.

He asserted the situation is improving in different localities where there was no peace previously.

He reiterated that caretaker government whether it runs for one month or eight months creates problems if affairs are not managed in the right direction.

The minister said that Shikarpur has been declared clear special district.
