The President of Dairy Farmers Karachi, Mubasher Qadeer Abbasi, has issued a cautionary statement regarding an imminent surge in milk prices in Karachi, possibly increasing by Rs.50 per liter.

He attributes this projected rise to the soaring costs of milk production, escalating prices of cattle, and governmental inattention to these pressing matters.

Abbasi calls for prompt intervention from the Karachi Commissioner to issue a notification aligning with the augmented expenses of milk production.

He stresses that if authorities fail to announce the price adjustment by May 10, stakeholders will take matters into their own hands and mutually agree on raising prices.

Recently, the Karachi Commissioner released a notification concerning the pricing of essential food items.

Under directives from Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, a price control program was initiated to oversee prices via a specified list.

According to the notification, wholesale prices of dairy farm milk were established at Rs. 180 per liter, with retail prices set at Rs. 200 per liter.
