
New Monsoon Spell Starting Today in Karachi
Monsoon rains and gusty winds are anticipated in Lahore and various parts of Punjab on Monday night, Tuesday, and Wednesday (Muharram 9 and 10). According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are expected to enter Pakistan on July 16. A westerly wave trough is currently affecting the upper regions of the country and is likely to impact the western and southern areas starting tonight.
Under these weather conditions, monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in isolated locations including Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Multan, and Dera Ghazi Khan on Monday night, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Elsewhere in the province, hot and humid weather is expected.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 38-40°C on Tuesday and 37-39°C on Wednesday.
Over the past 24 hours, hot and humid conditions prevailed across most parts of the province. Attock recorded the highest temperature at 41°C. Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Sargodha all saw maximum temperatures of 40°C. In Lahore, the maximum temperature reached 39°C, with relative humidity in the evening recorded at 46 percent.
