Pakistan is marking the death anniversary of Arfa Abdul Karim Randhawa, the nation’s youngest computer prodigy, who passed away on January 14, 2012, at the age of sixteen after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Born in 1995, Arfa made history in 2004 by becoming the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) at just nine years old, a record she held until 2008. Her remarkable skills in computing gained her international acclaim, making her a source of immense pride for Pakistan.

Arfa’s accomplishments were widely recognized. In 2005, she was awarded Pakistan’s prestigious President’s Pride of Performance Award for her exceptional contributions to the tech field.

Her talent also captured the attention of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, who invited her to visit the company’s headquarters in the United States.

Arfa proudly represented Pakistan on various global platforms, inspiring young people all over the world.

Although her life was brief, her contributions to technology and her inspiring journey continue to motivate aspiring innovators in Pakistan and across the globe.

As Pakistan remembers Arfa Karim today, her legacy as a symbol of brilliance, determination, and inspiration remains alive.
