Security forces repel attack in Balochistan, 5 terrorist killed, two soldiers martyred

Security forces thwarted a terrorist attack in the Gulistan area of Qila Abdullah District, Balochistan, on the night of January 27-28, 2024.

According to the ISPR, a terrorist group called “Khawarij” tried to attack a security post using an explosive-laden vehicle. They planned to blow up the post’s wall, but the security forces responded quickly. In the gunfight that followed, all five attackers, including two suicide bombers, were killed.

However, the ISPR also announced that two soldiers, Naik Tahir Khan (39, from Tank District) and Lance Naik Tahir Iqbal (26, from Karak District), were martyred in the intense exchange of fire. The ISPR praised their bravery and sacrifice.

A search operation is ongoing in the area, and efforts are being made to find those behind the attack. The ISPR also reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces are fully committed to defeating terrorism, no matter the challenges.
