Pakistan Navy reviews Maritime strategy as forces eliminate terror threat in Awaran
The Pakistan Navy held its Command and Staff Conference at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad, under the leadership of Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.
Admiral Ashraf praised the Navy’s unwavering maritime defense capabilities, especially during historic battles for national defense. He appreciated efforts to ensure uninterrupted trade flow through sea routes and smooth port operations, vital for national economic stability.
The Naval Chief emphasized the need to maintain combat readiness against both traditional and non-traditional threats in the maritime domain. He particularly stressed the importance of using advanced technologies, including drones, underwater vehicles, and unmanned surface vessels (marine drones), for surveillance and operations.
Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders joined the conference and reviewed Pakistan Navy’s ongoing policies, strategies, and future plans under Admiral Ashraf’s leadership.
In a separate major development, Pakistan’s security forces carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in Awaran district against Indian-backed terrorists, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to ISPR, the operation resulted in the elimination of three militants linked to the Indian-sponsored network “Fitna-e-Hindustan.” During the intense exchange of fire, Major Syed Rab Nawaz Tariq embraced martyrdom while fighting bravely on the front lines.
Security forces launched a clearance operation in the area to eliminate any remaining threats. ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully committed to eradicating terrorism and securing the nation’s borders.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif praised the professionalism and courage of the security personnel involved in the Awaran operation. He paid heartfelt tribute to Major Syed Rab Nawaz Tariq for sacrificing his life in the line of duty.
“The entire nation, including myself, stands proud of our brave martyrs and their families,” said the Prime Minister. He offered prayers for the martyr’s higher ranks in the afterlife and patience and strength for the bereaved family.
He stressed that the fight against terrorism would continue until the menace is completely wiped out from Pakistan. “Our valiant armed forces are working day and night to defeat the enemy’s nefarious designs,” he added.
The Prime Minister declared that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s courageous military in the fight against terrorism. He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering support for all ongoing efforts to protect peace and sovereignty.
