More widespread monsoon rains with some heavy showers are expected in Lahore and northeast Punjab on Tuesday night and Wednesday, with breaks in between. Central and southern Punjab may also see scattered rain during this period.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a seasonal low-pressure system is present over northern Balochistan, while strong monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are moving into northeast Punjab and Kashmir.

Under these conditions, rain and thunderstorms with heavy falls at some places are likely in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Chakwal and Jhelum on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Partly cloudy weather with isolated rain and thunderstorms is also expected in Bhakkar, Layyah, Jhang, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Multan, Khanewal, Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan.

These rains may raise water levels in rivers and streams in northeast Punjab and trigger flash floods in the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan. Heavy downpours could also cause urban flooding in Narowal, Sialkot, Gujrat, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala and Lahore. Strong winds and heavy rains may damage weak buildings, electric poles, billboards, vehicles and solar panels.
