ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant cut in LPG prices, giving relief to citizens at the start of October.

According to the new notification, LPG prices have been reduced by Rs6.70 per kilogram. The new price has been set at Rs207.48 per kilogram, compared to Rs214.19 per kilogram in September.

Following the reduction, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder has dropped to Rs2,448.33, which is Rs79.14 cheaper than last month’s rate of Rs2,527.47.

Officials said the main reason for the reduction is the global decline in LPG prices. Saudi Aramco recently cut international LPG rates by 3.78%, and this decrease has directly impacted the Pakistani market.

The price cut is expected to provide much-needed relief to households already struggling with rising costs of daily essentials. LPG is widely used across Pakistan, especially in areas without piped natural gas, making this reduction an important step for millions of families.

OGRA stated that the new rates will remain in effect throughout October.
