Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message on Navy Day, lauded the Pakistan Navy for always making the nation proud and paid rich tribute to all its officers, sailors, and personnel.

He said the day reaffirms the nation’s commitment to protecting Pakistan’s maritime borders and interests. The Prime Minister noted that the Navy’s history is filled with tales of valor, highlighting the 1965 Operation Somnath as a landmark achievement.

Sharif recalled how the Pakistan Navy launched a decisive strike on the Indian coastal city of Dwarka during the war, destroying its communication system. He said the operation showcased not only bravery and operational excellence but also laid the foundation for unwavering protection of the country’s maritime sovereignty.

The Prime Minister emphasized that this victory continues to inspire naval officers and sailors in their resolve to defend the motherland. He further noted that beyond the 1965 war, the Navy has played a pivotal role in maintaining balance of power in the Arabian Sea, a testimony to its professionalism and strategic vision.

Referring to recent operational successes, he said the Navy once again demonstrated its preparedness and determination, sending a clear message that Pakistan will protect its maritime frontiers at all costs.
