Field Marshal Asim Munir visits Peshawar, sends clear warning to Afghanistan

Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Peshawar on Thursday, where he received a detailed briefing on security and operational readiness in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the visit, he sent a strong and clear message to Afghanistan and India-backed militant groups, warning them against any hostile actions toward Pakistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief was briefed at Headquarters 11 Corps about the overall security situation and ongoing operations in the region. The Peshawar Corps Commander welcomed Field Marshal Munir upon his arrival.

Meeting with Tribal Elders:

Field Marshal Munir also met tribal elders during a jirga, where they discussed efforts to maintain peace and stability in the tribal districts. The elders reaffirmed their full support for Pakistan’s security forces, declaring that extremist ideologies like “Fitna-e-Khawarij” and “Fitna-e-Hindustan” hold no place among tribal communities.

Praise for Tribal People’s Courage:

The Army Chief praised the tribal people for their sacrifices, resilience, and bravery in the fight against terrorism. He said the tribes have always played a vital role in safeguarding Pakistan’s peace and stability.

Pakistan’s Message to Neighbors:

Field Marshal Munir reiterated that Pakistan desires peaceful relations with all its neighbors. However, he made it clear that Pakistan will not tolerate any form of terrorism originating from Afghan soil.

He criticized the Afghan Taliban government for failing to stop India-backed militant groups operating from Afghanistan, despite Pakistan’s repeated efforts to maintain friendly ties.

“We have made several attempts to strengthen our relations with Afghanistan, but instead, the Taliban regime has provided space to groups supported by India,” Munir said.

He also stressed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must be completely cleared of terrorists and their facilitators, reaffirming the military’s commitment to eliminating terrorism from the region once and for all.
