The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released a new anthem titled “Qaum Kay Shaheedo Tumhen Salam” (Salute to the Martyrs of the Nation), dedicated to those who laid down their lives defending Pakistan.

The song, sung by Malik Sanan with lyrics written by Ahmed Freed, serves as a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s heroes. The ISPR described it as an expression of deep respect for “the brave sons of the soil who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan.”

According to the ISPR, the martyrs’ strong faith and commitment to protecting the motherland will continue to inspire future generations. The anthem also honours the sacrifices of innocent children and women who lost their lives in acts of violence, acknowledging their courage and pain.

The release of the anthem comes just days after Pakistan’s armed forces successfully repelled multiple cross-border attacks launched by Afghan Taliban and allied militant groups. In response to these attacks, Pakistani forces killed more than 200 militants, the ISPR confirmed. However, the clashes also claimed the lives of 23 Pakistani soldiers.

Following these intense border confrontations and Pakistan’s precision strikes inside Afghanistan, both countries agreed to a temporary 48-hour ceasefire on October 16, which was later extended until 6 p.m. on October 18.

The ceasefire decision came after delegations from Pakistan and Afghanistan met in Doha, Qatar, and agreed to immediately halt hostilities.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the development on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “A ceasefire agreement has been finalised. The terrorist attacks from Afghanistan on Pakistan’s soil will cease immediately. Both neighbouring countries will respect each other’s territory.”

He added that the two sides will meet again in Istanbul, Turkiye, on October 25 to discuss the situation in more detail.
