ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday chaired a review meeting on the energy reforms package and directed the Power Division to prepare comprehensive policy recommendations for improving the sector.

The prime minister said that supporting industrialists and investors is among the government’s top priorities, as the growth of industry and agriculture is essential for Pakistan’s economy.

He instructed the Power Division to ensure the efficient and productive use of electricity, saying that effective power utilization can boost industrial and agricultural output.

During the meeting, officials from the Power Division briefed the prime minister on the reform plan related to power generation and its optimal use.

PM Shehbaz called for a clear strategy to channel electricity toward increasing production in key sectors and improving overall energy efficiency.

The participants were also briefed on the progress of policy recommendations and ongoing energy reforms.

Federal Ministers Awais Leghari, Ata Tarar, Ahad Cheema, the PM’s Adviser Haroon Akhtar, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
