RAWALPINDI: The British Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Charles Roland Vincent Walker, met Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, and ways to strengthen defence cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. They agreed on the importance of continued collaboration to promote peace and stability in the region.

The British Army Chief praised the Pakistan Army for its achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and for its efforts toward regional peace.

Upon his arrival at GHQ, General Walker laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs and was presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army.

Earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir paid an official visit to Jordan, where he met King Abdullah II. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II also attended the meeting.

During the visit, both sides discussed strengthening defence and security cooperation and shared views on regional developments. COAS Asim Munir conveyed warm greetings from the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan to the Jordanian leadership.

King Abdullah II appreciated the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and expressed his desire to further enhance defence collaboration between the two brotherly nations.
