RAWALPINDI: Commander of the Turkish Land Forces General Metin Tokel met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF)Â Field Marshal Asim Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi to discuss bilateral military cooperation and regional security issues.
According Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), upon arrival at GHQ, the visiting dignitary was presented a smartly turned out Guard of Honour by an Army contingent.
During the meeting, matters of mutual professional interest, regional security dynamics, and avenues for enhanced bilateral defence cooperation were discussed.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir highlighted the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and strategic ties between the two countries and appreciated the strong defence partnership between the Armed Forces of Pakistan and Turkiye.
The visiting dignitary also visited Naval Headquarters in Islamabad and called on Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.
During the meeting, matters of professional interest and regional maritime security environment were discussed.
Commander of Turkish Land Forces also called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu Chief of Air Staff at Air Headquarters (AHQ), Islamabad.
The meeting focused on bilateral military cooperation and matters pertaining to professional interest.

Earlier, Lebanese Armed Forces Chief General Rodolphe Haykal visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where he held a high-level meeting with Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Upon arrival at GHQ, the visiting military chief was presented with a guard of honour, marking the significance of the official defence engagement.
During the meeting, both military leaders held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, regional security developments, and various dimensions of bilateral defence cooperation, the ISPR said.
