DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested an alleged female suicide bomber during an intelligence-based operation in the Sheikh Yousaf tent settlement area of D.I. Khan.
According to officials, the suspect is a young woman and a resident of Waziristan.
During preliminary interrogation, she allegedly confessed that arrangements for the suicide attack — including provision of explosives and identification of the target — were to be made by a militant commander identified as Asim.
CTD officials recovered a 30-bore pistol with ammunition, multiple mobile phones, a tablet device, and other materials allegedly linked to the planned attack from the suspect’s possession.
Authorities further revealed that forensic examination of the seized mobile phones uncovered evidence of contact with a banned organization, including communication indicating her alleged consent to carry out a suicide attack.
Investigations are ongoing to trace facilitators and handlers connected to the network. Security officials reiterated their commitment to preventing acts of terrorism and safeguarding public safety across the province.
