ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released voter turnout figures for the by-elections held on six National Assembly and seven Provincial Assembly constituencies.
According to the ECP, the overall voter turnout in the by-elections stood at 28.58%.
In the National Assembly constituencies, NA-18 Haripur recorded the highest turnout at 50.82%, followed by NA-185 with 32.61%. Turnout in NA-96 Faisalabad was 26.46%, while NA-143 Sahiwal saw 21.43% voter participation.
The ECP further reported that NA-129 Lahore registered a turnout of 18.67%, and NA-104 Faisalabad had the lowest turnout at 13.23%.
In the Provincial Assembly seats, PP-269 Muzaffargarh recorded a high turnout of 50.82%, while PP-98 Faisalabad saw 36.82% voter participation.
As per the data, turnout in PP-73 Sargodha was 34.45%, PP-87 Mianwali saw 27%, PP-116 Faisalabad recorded 22.94%, and PP-203 Sahiwal had 22.4% turnout.
Earlier, The by-elections for several National and Provincial Assembly seats across Pakistan concluded with significant results, including a major upset in NA-18 Haripur, where the PTI-backed independent candidate Shehernaz suffered a heavy defeat.
National Assembly Highlights:
NA-18 Haripur: PML-N’s Babar Nawaz Khan won with 163,996 votes, defeating Shehernaz Umar Ayub, wife of former opposition leader Umar Ayub Khan, who received 120,220 votes. The seat became vacant after Umar Ayub was disqualified over a May 9 incident.
NA-129 Lahore: PML-N’s Hafiz Mian Muhammad Noman led with 63,441 votes, while PTI-supported independent Arsalan Ahmed got 29,099 votes.
NA-185 Dera Ghazi Khan 2: PML-N’s Mahmood Qadir Khan won 82,416 votes, defeating PPP’s Dost Muhammad Khosa, who secured 49,262 votes. The seat was vacated following PTI’s Zartaj Gul’s disqualification.
NA-143 Sahiwal 3: PML-N’s Muhammad Tufail Jutt won with 136,223 votes; independent Zarar Akbar Chaudhry received 13,220 votes. The seat was vacated by PTI’s Hassan Nawaz.
NA-104 Faisalabad 10: PML-N’s Daniyal Ahmed took 52,791 votes, defeating independent Rana Adnan Javed with 19,262 votes.
NA-96 Faisalabad: PML-N’s Bilal Badr Chaudhry, brother of Federal Minister Talal Chaudhry, won 93,009 votes.
Provincial Assembly Highlights:
PP-87 Mianwali: PML-N’s Ali Haider Noor Khan Niazi won 67,986 votes, independent Mohammad Ayaz Khan Niazi got 3,310 votes.
PP-98 Faisalabad 1: PML-N’s Azad Ali Tabassum won 44,388 votes, defeating independent Mohammad Ajmal with 35,245 votes.
PP-115 Faisalabad 18: PML-N’s Mohammad Tahir Pervez secured 49,049 votes, defeating independent Mohammad Asghar with 18,098 votes.
PP-116 Faisalabad 19: PML-N’s Ahmed Shaharyar, son-in-law of PM’s adviser Rana Sanaullah, won 48,824 votes; independent Malik Asghar Ali Qaiser got 11,429 votes. The seat was vacated by PTI’s Ismail Silla.
PP-203 Sahiwal 6: PML-N’s Muhammad Hanif won 46,900 votes, defeating independent Falak Sher with 10,895 votes.
PP-73 Sargodha: PML-N’s Sultan Ali Ranjha secured 71,770 votes, independent Mehr Mohsin Raza got 12,970 votes.
PP-269 Muzaffargarh 2: PPP’s Mian Alamdar Abbas Qureshi won by securing 55,611 votes.

The by-election results have reinforced PML-N’s dominance in most constituencies, while PTI-backed candidates faced significant losses, with the biggest upset recorded in NA-18 Haripur.
