Jayasuriya to donate Pakistan tour fees to Sri Lanka flood victims

RAWALPINDI: Sri Lanka’s head coach and former aggressive batsman, Sanath Jayasuriya, has announced that his match and Pakistan tour fees will be donated to flood victims in Sri Lanka.

In a statement, Jayasuriya expressed that all players and supporting staff are deeply saddened by the flooding situation in their country. He added, “We have decided to give our match and Pakistan tour fees to the flood victims. Once we return home, we plan to do even more. In these difficult times, it’s important to take care of each other.”

The announcement comes ahead of the T20 Tri-Nation Series final, which will be played today between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi Stadium.

Pakistan reached the final by winning three out of four matches, while Sri Lanka qualified after losing the first two matches of the series.

Captains Salman Ali Agha (Pakistan) and Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka) posed with the trophy at a local hotel ahead of the decisive clash.

The final match is scheduled to start at 6 PM.
