The Motorway Police has issued an urgent travel advisory as dense fog continues to impair visibility on national highways and motorways.
The spokesperson emphasized that the reduced visibility significantly heightens the risk of accidents, prompting temporary closures of certain motorway sections to ensure traveler safety.
In light of these conditions, authorities recommend that travelers complete their journeys between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., and strongly advise against unnecessary travel during night hours. Drivers are urged to activate fog lights, ensure their wipers are functioning properly, maintain a safe and increased distance from the vehicle ahead, and avoid using high-beam lights, which can further diminish visibility.
Passengers are advised to stay updated on road conditions by calling helpline 130, tuning into FM 95 radio, or checking official social media channels before embarking on their journey. The Motorway Police assured the public that their teams remain vigilant 24/7 and are taking all necessary measures to safeguard lives and property.
“The safety of the public is our top priority,” the spokesperson stated, urging everyone to exercise caution and adhere to safety protocols during the foggy weather conditions.
