The National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has announced that the final polio vaccination campaign of 2025 will officially commence nationwide from tomorrow, December 15, and continue until December 21.
During the campaign, more than 45 million children across Pakistan will be administered polio prevention drops, the National EOC said.
In Punjab, over 23 million children are set to receive the polio drops, while Sindh will cover more than 16 million children. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 7.2 million children will be vaccinated, and Balochistan will see 2.6 million children administered the drops.
In the federal capital, Islamabad, over 460,000 children will benefit from the campaign. Meanwhile, 228,000 children in Gilgit-Baltistan and 760,000 children in Azad Kashmir will receive the polio vaccine.
More than 400,000 male and female polio workers will carry out the vaccination campaign across the country.
The National EOC emphasized that protecting children from polio is a shared national responsibility and urged parents to cooperate with polio workers to ensure the safety and health of their children.
Parents are particularly encouraged to ensure that children under five years of age receive the two mandatory drops needed to safeguard them against polio.
The EOC reiterated that consistent vaccination efforts are critical to eliminating polio from Pakistan and securing a healthy future for the nation’s children.
