The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted another monsoon spell in Islamabad and several other parts of the country from August 27, with strong winds also expected during this period.
Islamabad is expected to experience hot and humid weather over the next one to two days. Temperatures could reach 36 degrees Celsius before the new spell of rain begins.
Karachi is also likely to remain hot and humid as reduced sea-breeze activity combines with high humidity. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to reach 33 degrees Celsius, while the current temperature is around 29 degrees Celsius with humidity at 75%. Southwesterly winds are blowing at a speed of 12 kilometers per hour.
Lahore and most parts of Punjab are also expected to experience hot and humid weather. Lahore’s maximum temperature could reach 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 29 degrees Celsius.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to remain mostly hot and humid. However, isolated rain is likely in Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Torghar, Haripur and South Waziristan. Peshawar’s maximum temperature could reach 37 degrees Celsius.
Authorities have advised people to take precautions during intense heat and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of rain, thunderstorms and strong winds.
