OGRA Reduces Gas Prices for SSGCL and SNGPL

Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced reduction in gas prices.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in gas prices for Pakistan’s major gas companies. Sui Southern Gas Company’s (SSGC) prices have been reduced by 8 percent, while Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) prices have been cut by 3 percent.

OGRA has completed the revenue requirement review for SNGPL and SSGCL and revised their average notified prices for the fiscal year 2025-26. Following the reduction, SNGPL’s average price is set at Rs 1,804.08 per MMBTU, while SSGCL’s average price is now Rs 1,549.41 per MMBTU.

The regulator reviewed the expenses and revenues of the gas companies and recalculated demand to ensure fairness. The impact of deferred cargo for PLL has also been passed on for the benefit of consumers. In line with cabinet decisions, Rs 13,565 million for SNGPL and Rs 47,315 million for SSGCL have been adjusted.

OGRA has consulted the federal government regarding category-wise gas pricing. The new prices will be officially notified soon, while current category-wise gas rates remain in effect until then. Full details of the decision are available on OGRA’s website.
